The 15th of August

A small explanation for those who haven't read about my previous trip to Siberia and know nothing about Community of Vissarion, Abode of Dawn, Ecopolis Tiberkul and so on. I was beginning to write to the ring of bells of the Temple and Minusinsk's house. Noon. Mellow chime. The difference in time between Moscow and this place is 3 hours in summer and 4 in winter, because believers use natural time, they don't put a clock on winter and summer time. It's 9 am in Moscow now.

New buildings in Petropavlovka.

Today and yesterday I walked in Petropavlovka. This village has changed very much during 4 years. There are many new and unfinished houses. Can we call it a village now? I think Petropavlovka is turning into a town already. A smell of new shaved boards is spreading everywhere. Some new shops have appeared, there is even a small cafe where you can get a cup of tea or coffee of different highest-quality sorts. Here with a cup of fragrant coffee with cream I was beginning to write my journal.

The owner of this small open cafe is Yuriy-"American", he's got this name because he lived in USA some time. Then he came here to Siberia for living. Here he got married and had learned ceramics. He didn't have enough money to build his own pottery, so he opened a small cafe for earning it. Now he and his family live in Petropavlovka. And I must say that he makes wonderful coffee!

Also many cars and mobile phones appeared in Petropavlovka - earlier you couldn't see such things very often here. New and unfinished houses look very nice and some ones look even rich. Every house is built with ingenuity, with imagination; almost all new houses have 2 or even 3 floors and all they are roomy. Mainly they are built from log, but there are some houses from bricks, too.

There are many bicycles in Petropavlovka. You can see them everywhere: near shops, near the Minusinsk's house; old and young people cycle everywhere throughout Petropavlovka.

Today one meeting took place. At the hospitable Tatiana's house where I stood I saw a young woman whose face seemed familiar to me. We said "Hello" to each other, but I couldn't recollect where I met her. I remembered her only when we met a group from Tallinn (Tallinn is a capital of Estonia). It turned out that I saw her face on photos from Diorisiy's concerts. (I'm a web-designer of Diorisiy's site.) We talked, smiled, exchanged our e-mails and links of our sites with Estonian group. And we decided to be friends.

Oh, I almost forgot to say that there is a mobile communication here, but the only one - ETK. I've heard about such mobile operator for the first time here, this name means Yenisei (the name of the river here) TeleKom. No any other operators of mobile communication work here.

The 16th of August

There are some necessary things which you must have if you are going to come here.

First of all it's a sleeping-bag and a special plastic bedding which you can put under your sleeping-bag. Then you may not be afraid any discomforts even if you must sleep on floor or in a tent.

The second thing is a flash-light for you could come back home after a liturgy or a concert. There is a small lightning in Petropavlovka, the light is only in the "centre" - near the Temple, the Minusinsk's house and shops. Other street lamps usually don't work very often. Many people here have special flash-lights which they put on their heads (to understand imagine a miner with a flash-light on his forehead). Such flash-lights is very comfortable because your hands are free when you walk or cycle.

Yesterday evening there was a concert of Svetlana Vladimirskaya. To say the truth, earlier I didn't like her singing. But now some elusive changes have happened inside her, her voice began to sound confidently, strongly, professionally. This time I liked Svetlana very much. Her energy was strong and turned the auditorium on, her voice sounded fine.

Yesterday an exhibition of paintings was opened on the second floor of the gallery "Blagovest" ("Toll"). Local artists presented their new paintings.
I'll try only to list the names of artists because I couldn't take good photos with my old "soapbox".

	Sergey Chastnik - "The morning on Tibercul".		Victor Jestkov - "Sunny speckle".

Natalia Svetnenko painted wonderful bright, celestial portraits of children.
Dmitriy Ishenko painted flowers of all sorts and colours.
Igor Mohov showed fine portraits in his new realistic style.
We already know Igor Goncharov by his exhibitions in different cities and his works which were sold in Moscow.
Oleg Yurzakov - his "Portrait of the Teacher" absorbed all attention.
Victor Tikhonov showed splendid portraits made with a pencil.
Victor Russkih.
Victor Jestkov - I liked his painting "Sunny speckle" very much.
Anatoliy Viculov.
Sergey Chastnik - I liked his painting "The morning on Tibercul".
Andrey Morosov with his strange "Mountain house".
Krasimir Angelov - he uses magical, fairy colours.

All painters are original, unique, their paintings are full of light and joy. In general this exhibition left the feeling of elation, light and spirituality in me.

		On this photo you can see the place where I saw wonderful dreams. I slept at a library (if you remember there were a lot of people in Tatiana's house and they slept everywhere) with many books around, paintings on walls. Agree that in such place beautiful cloud-castles must be seen in dreams every night. On my bed you can see the picture by Igor Goncharov "A little church on a hill" which I bought. Igor was very kind to sign it for me. I didn't find my sleeping-bag, but Tatiana gave me other.

I'm sitting in the Island. Here a preparation for the festival is going full speed. Yesterday it was rain. Today the weather is cool and it seems that it will rain again.

On the island all villages where believers live are presented. Every village brought here something: a story about living, hand-made goods, photos, a story about youth theatre and many other interesting things. I decided to look for a group from Imiss. In that village I lived during my previous coming here. At last I found them. They recollected, recognised me. Everybody was busy in pre-holiday activity, they were prepared an awning where they would show hand-made goods of their village. I offered them my help. They asked me to help women who worked in the kitchen. I was very glad to see again my friends and especially Paulina in whose house I lived last time. Meetings, recognitions, joyful smiles, talks, interchange of news... With talking I've peeled a bucket of potatoes. Then they invited me for dinner and fed me very tasty.

		And in the evening in Petropavlovka on the Popular stage near the gallery "Blagovest" ("Toll") there was a concert of musicians from Abode of Dawn and from Heavenly Abode. On the photo you can see the audience of this concert.
